Porsche Wall of Sound Custom Automotive Audio

The Porsche Wall of Sound combines a genuine Porsche V8 engine with a custom-built high-performance audio system developed in partnership with Wyred 4 Sound.

A Porsche 928 V8 is suspended between two custom speaker towers, with the amplifiers and electronics integrated into the structure. The original Porsche oil pan has also been converted into a functional storage drawer.

The complete system measures 75" tall × 66" wide × 32" deep.

Custom-Built Audio System

The speaker system was designed specifically for this project. The cabinets were built around the selected drivers, with the internal volume and porting designed for the audio system.

Each tower uses a custom 3-way speaker design with:

  • Neodymium ribbon tweeters
  • 8" neodymium midrange drivers
  • Custom crossovers with Litz-wire inductors
  • Custom-built ported speaker cabinets

Bass is provided by two 10" aluminum-cone subwoofers, with one housed in the lower section of each tower.

Showcase Porsche 928 V8

At the center of the system is a stunning Porsche 928 V8 engine.

The engine has been completely refinished in a charcoal and gold color scheme, and suspended within the steel structure. The original oil pan has been converted into a drawer, adding usable storage while keeping one of the engine's original components in place.

Amplification

The main speakers are powered by a 350-watt-per-channel amplifier.The two subwoofers are powered by a separate 1,200-watt DSP-controlled amplifier.

Total available amplification: 1,900 watts.

Integrated Preamp & DAC

The system includes an integrated preamplifier and DAC with:

  • 3 analog inputs
  • 3 digital inputs
  • Balanced XLR connections
  • RCA connections
  • Headphone output

The amplifiers and preamp are built directly into the Wall of Sound for a clean, self-contained installation.

This Porsche 928 build features our Performance Wall of Sound specification.

Each Wall of Sound is built to order and can be customized around the client's preferred engine, dimensions, finish and audio requirements.
