About Ben & The Studio

What started as a mechanic’s side project has grown into a studio that builds custom furniture from genuine automotive parts. Every piece is handcrafted with the same care and precision that went into the cars it came from.

Where It All Started

The Early Days

Some kids grew up around toys — I grew up around engines. My grandfather’s car repair shop was where I spent every spare moment, usually handed an old engine to take apart just to keep me busy. I don’t think any of them ever ran again. But that’s where it began — surrounded by the smell of oil and metal, the sound of tools, and the rhythm of hard work. I’ve been fascinated by engines ever since, seeing beauty in every piece and wondering how something so mechanical could feel so alive.

The Journey — From Restoration to Reinvention

For years, I worked as a restorer and technician, rebuilding high-end sports cars and engines for collectors who shared my respect for mechanical perfection.

But I started to see something more — the potential for these masterpieces of engineering to live beyond the road. I began experimenting, creating tables, clocks, and sculptures from engines that once roared to life. The first time someone called one of my builds “art,” I knew I’d found my purpose.

B.A.D. Is Born — From Garage to Gallery

What began as a late-night project in a small garage has grown into Ben’s Automotive Decor — a creative studio dedicated to reimagining automotive craftsmanship.

Every build that leaves our workshop is unique: a one-of-a-kind celebration of the vehicle it came from, and of the person who inspired it. From Le Mans–winning engines to modern supercar components, we treat each part as a piece of history — because it is.

B.A.D. isn’t about mass production. It’s about meaning, precision, and the connection between man, machine, and art.

Because every piece carries more than metal — it carries a story.

What Drives Us — The Heart of the Build

Every build that leaves my hands has a story behind it — not just mine, but the person it’s made for. Sometimes it’s a father and son who rebuilt a car together. Sometimes it’s someone who finally bought the car they dreamed of as a kid.

The engines, pistons, and crankshafts we work with once had a life of their own — they powered victories, memories, and moments that mattered.

I still feel that same spark I had as a kid in my grandfather’s shop — the mix of curiosity and respect that comes from holding a piece of machinery, and now enjoy turning it into something timeless.

Beyond the Workshop — Thank You for Being Here

Thanks for taking the time to explore our story and discover what drives us. Ben’s Automotive Decor isn’t a big corporation — it’s a small team, built around family.

I’m Ben Harvey — founder, designer, and builder I still spend most of my days in the workshop, hands covered in metal dust, shaping ideas into reality.

My family are part of this journey too — from helping at car shows to giving honest feedback on designs. Together, we’ve built something that goes beyond furniture. We’re creating pieces that celebrate stories, achievements, and memories.

Whether you’re a lifelong gearhead or simply someone who appreciates precision and design, we’re grateful you’re here. And if our work speaks to you, I’d love to start a conversation about what we can create together.

Let’s talk about your vision and bring it to life through a custom build.
