McLaren Engine Table — Movement Series 01

One engine. Two interpretations.

What was once built for pure movement

now sits suspended —

a moment of combustion, held still in steel.

Teardown Stage

"McLaren supplied a single engine for this commission. As I tore it down on the bench, the internal parts stopped looking like components and started looking like sculptural forms. The idea shifted — instead of one table, this engine would become two interpretations of power."

Geometry Locked

"I recreated the assembly exactly as it would live inside the V8 — correct firing order, angles, and piston position, as if the engine were caught mid-cycle. Rather than just displaying parts, I wanted to capture a mechanical heartbeat frozen in time."

Motion Suspended

"This second table became a study of movement and rhythm. Where the Block Series table celebrates mass and structure, this one focuses on the timing and tension designed into every McLaren engine.

The artistic steel frame is inspired by the bank angle of the original engine. "

Installed at McLaren USA Headquarters

This build left the B.A.D workshop in California and was delivered directly to McLaren’s U.S. headquarters. It now sits among their championship memorabilia and historic race trophies — a functional piece of art built from the same engineering language that powers their cars.

Every build begins with a conversation.
