Here is a clock created with a piston and connecting rod from a real Audi car engine! These parts are recognized by most 'car lovers' as being deep inside the heart of an engine. Notice the famous Audi 4 ring logo cast into the metal next to the clock face!
The Audi piston clock measures approximately 9 inches tall, and about 4 inches around on the base.
The Audi engine is completely taken apart, and the piston and connecting rod assembly then undergoes a deep cleaning process. It goes through a car part washer, after which it is sandblasted, glass bead blasted and polished clean.
It is then finished in the color of your choice, or coated in a durable clear lacquer for the raw metal finish. The raw metal finish can be either with natural patina (marks and stains preserved), or the pristine finish (meticulously cleaned and polished).
The clock is battery powered, and is a perfect to sit on a desk, mantelpiece or shelf. The battery is easily replaced, with access from the back of the clock to set the time and replace the battery. Being a real car engine part, the piston clock has a heavy, sturdy, industrial feel to it.
